Riquelme on Boca: Elections more significant than final against Real

Juan Roman Riquelme, a presidential candidate for Boca Juniors, has expressed his views on the future of the club in a conversation with the club’s official YouTube channel.

Riquelme revealed his happiness at seeing supporters taking note of their potential. He, however, expressed his unease at some situations unfolding in the country he loves. He stated, “I have seen things that I have never experienced in 45 years. Macri wanted to intervene to privatize the club. This is dirt. That’s why this Sunday is the most important day in the 118 year history of the club.”

He emphasized his belief that they are set to break the voting record and win by a significant margin in the upcoming elections. As fans, Riquelme affirmed, they will show that the club belongs to them and they are proud. He urged his fellow supporters, “We will not let this man steal our heart. Please come to vote. It’s the most important day in our history. The club is 118 years old. We need to be more than 50,000. These elections are more important than the final I played with Real Madrid,” he added.
