El Shaarawy sues Corona over “infamous and orchestrated operation”

Stephan El Shaarawy has filed a lawsuit against Fabrizio Corona after the allegations made in the betting case. The Roma forward responded to the accusations with a statement released by his lawyers Matteo Uslenghi and Federico Venturi Ferriolo. Despite his reluctance to publicly express himself, El Shaarawy’s reaction is described as resolute. He considers the actions taken against him to be defamatory and even worse, carefully orchestrated. He believes that the perpetrators should be held accountable, not only for his own protection, but also for the sake of the club he represents and ultimately, the integrity of Italian football.
