Correa Distances Gudmundsson from Inter Milan? A Solid Lead Emerges

The potential return of Joaquin Correa to Internazionale looks set to impact the Milan-based club’s future transfer options, including their interest in Icelandic star Johann Berg Gudmundsson. Presently on loan at Inter from Lazio, the likelihood of ‘Tucu’ – as Correa is affectionately known – making his move permanent seems unlikely, despite initial expectations.

This as yet speculative homecoming for Correa may have repercussions on the club’s interest in Burnley FC’s ace Gudmundsson. The anticipated return of Correa is thought to have left the pursuit of the Icelandic winger downplayed in the minds of Inter’s two leading figures, Sporting Director Piero Ausilio and Director of Football Dario Baccin.

“A very concrete possibility exists for Correa’s return and subsequent stay, and for this reason, the prospect of enlisting Gudmundsson has become more remote,” sources close to Inter have been quoted as saying. Further updates about the Italian champions’ transfer movements are yet to be revealed.
