Roma, Mourinho: Happy with demonstrated personality

Roma boss Jose Mourinho voiced his thoughts after Roma fell to a defeat against Juventus in Turin. Mourinho spoke to DAZN following the game.

About the match, Mourinho commented, “We showed a lot of character, we talked about this before the game. We created more than what was expected against the wall of Turin. At 0-0 we had quality, we hit a post and had two to three dangerous situations. We strategically created many problems for them with Bove and Dybala. At the beginning of the second half, we conceded a goal from rebounds, two rebounds. At that point they descended, their wall is structured and they have strong players. For us, it’s a shame, the result could have been completely different. But I am happy with the performance and the personality, but what matters are the points.”

Commenting on the performance away from home, Mourinho said, “Obviously we are stronger at home, but not just us. Our fans make a difference. When talking about Roma, respect must be given to what we are doing with all the difficulties. There is a lack of personality in imposing our game away from home. But not today. They want the Scudetto and were motivated by Inter’s result. In the first half we were brave and stronger than them. After the 1-0, they are comfortable in that game, we kept the ball without great opportunities apart from a shot from outside by Dybala. Obviously, we want to raise the level.”

Mourinho’s match commentary highlights both the challenges and achievements his team faced in the game against Juventus.
