Salernitana, Fazio: We deserve more and we have proven it

Salernitana’s defender Federico Fazio has hailed his team’s victory over Verona as “well-deserved”, in an interview given to DAZN. After a display of sustained pressure from the outset, he praised his team’s fighting spirit.

“We went from the start to take them in their half of the pitch, we deserved to win,” Fazio said, adding that his team, no matter the results, continues to play and fight.

Fazio also noted the difference in atmosphere compared to their previous matches. “Even against Milan we deserved to win, we came here to play and win. We are a strong team, we deserve more points and today we proved it,” he said. Fazio thanked all the fans who came out to support the club.

Expressing his satisfaction at the team’s first clean sheet, the Salernitana defender stated, “We deserved to find it even much earlier. We must get used to not conceding goals, to play against difficult teams like today and keep our goal intact.”

Looking ahead to 2024, Fazio concluded, “We will start from this victory, we are waiting first for a Copa match and then a championship match. We are fighting and deserve more. We will fight to the end for the fans.”
