As we tread into the final week of the January football transfer market, La Gazzetta dello Sport continues to bring to light the “hot negotiations” taking place. Here are the latest developments on the transfer front.
On the prospect of James becoming a part of Atalanta, the Gazzetta reports “There’s still a gap between demand and offer for the 19-year-old Central Welsh midfielder, who has scored 6 goals in the Championship. Atalanta has increased its offer to 5 million plus bonuses, but Birmingham is asking for 10.”
When it comes to Belotti moving to Fiorentina, they stated “The negotiation is far from simple but the hypothesis could be an exchange of loans: “Gallo” to Fiorentina and Ikoné to Roma, which is looking for a wing forward after De Rossi’s arrival.”
Regarding Okereke’s possible move to Frosinone, the Gazzetta clarified “Having missed out on Popovic and Zerbin, for the attack, sports director Angelozzi could make a move with Cremonese for Okereke, who he knows well from the days at Spezia and who can play as either a forward or winger.”
On the note of Idrissa Touré’s switch to Cagliari, sources stated “Ranieri is looking for physicality in midfield. The 25-year-old German of Guinean origin who is currently playing in Pisa has caught the attention of Bonato. He landed in Italy in 2018 playing for Juve U23.”
The move of Ohio to Genoa was reported saying “Genoa is considering Noah Ohio, 21 years old, an Anglo-Dutch striker born in 2003, of the Standard Liege club, which belongs to the Football Ground of the 777, the same ownership as the Rossoblu club.”
Reports of De Wit’s possible shift to Lecce include negotiations being initiated with Az Alkmaar that are now at a standstill given the 25-year-old midfielder’s involvement in the recent round of the Dutch championship. His contract expires in June.
Salernitana is said to be eyeing Segre, a midfielder from Palermo, who has scored five goals in this season’s Serie B. The Gazzetta added “He has already played in Serie A with Torino but could return because he is very much to the liking of the Campanians. He has caught the attention of the director general, Sabatini.”
Finally, mapping the possible return of Niang to the Italian grounds with Empoli, it was quoted “The French-Senegalese striker, ex-Milan, Genoa, and Torino, wants to return to Italy. This year in Turkey, he has scored 8 goals with Adana Demirspor. Empoli is trying to overtake Genoa.”
