Italian football club Palermo have sealed the definitive transfer of Filippo Ranocchia, a promising midfielder previously with the Juventus Next Gen team.
Officially announced by the club, Ranocchia has now formally joined Palermo. The midfielder was switched from Juventus on a full ownership agreement.
According to an official club statement, “Filippo Ranocchia, a 2001 class midfielder who came to us in Black and White from Perugia in 2019, has been sold definitively by Juventus to Palermo.”
The talented midfielder was loaned out this season, to Empoli, where he played nine league games before crystallising his move to Palermo. He departs Juventus after playing 17 games for the youth team in the 2019-2020 season.
Ranocchia played an influential role in the subsequent season with Juventus Next Gen, racking up 31 appearances, four goals, and three assists.
Despite being a part of the first team multiple times, Ranocchia did not make any official appearances for Juventus before his loan stints with Vicenza, Monza, and finally Empoli.
With Empoli in the current season, Ranocchia made nine appearances and clocked 477 minutes in Serie A before his transfer to the Sicilian team currently engaged in the Serie B playoffs.
