Inter’s Inzaghi: We won’t be inferior to Atletico Madrid

Inter Milan’s head coach Simone Inzaghi commented on the Champions League round of 16 draw in an interview with the club’s official channels.

He spoke along these lines: “This will be a great round of sixteen match, with two high-level teams playing in two beautiful stadiums with a large audience. We are happy because we continue to face such important matches in Europe on a regular basis.”

In his comments, Inzaghi, courtesy Inter’s official media, recognised the strength and tradition of their opponents, Atlético Madrid, noting that the Spanish club has made it to the final twice in the past decade.

However, Inzaghi insists that Inter Milan is not inferior, stating, “We want to continue dreaming and bring more joy to our fans.”

He also acknowledged Atlético Madrid’s head coach, Diego Simeone, saying, “Simeone is a great coach with whom I share a good relationship—I’ve achieved considerable success with him, including a Scudetto with Lazio.”

Inzaghi highlighted the importance of focusing on the games ahead; significant league matches and the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italiana.

He added, “Then we will think about getting ready for these two big matches: they will be two battles, we will work to be prepared.”
