Tiago Pinto, the General Manager of Roma, is set to leave the the club following the January transfer window.
The news was first reported by TMW, which suggests that Pinto will give the team another centre-back under the direction of José Mourinho before packing his bags, potentially for a return to Benfica.
Pinto’s departure from Roma is linked to several poor decisions regarding player acquisitions over the years, and particularly the ineffective loan deal of Renato Sanches from PSG last summer.
Roma has already begun the search for Pinto’s replacement, with Monza’s Modesto and AC Milan’s Massara being the leading contenders. It should be noted that for Massara, it would be a return to Roma.
