According to a survey conducted by Italpress and reported by the Corriere dello Sport, Serie A managers have tipped Inter to win the league. The exceptions being Gasperini, who favours Juve, Ranieri who prefers both teams and Simone Inzaghi who abstained from voting.
Out of the 20 Serie A managers questioned (excluding Thiago Motta, Gilardino, Allegri, Sarri, Palladino and Mourinho), an overwhelming consensus emerged, indicating Inter as the potential victors.
Responding to other questions, the majority dubbed Bologna as the revelation team of the tournament and identified Zirkzee as the surprise player, bolstered by 11 and 8 votes respectively. They were closely followed by Frosinone and Gudmundsson.
Gasparini of Atalanta favoured Bologna as the surprise team, Ederson as the surprise player and tipped Juve for the championship. On the other hand, Ranieri from Cagliari picked Bologna, Zirkzee and hedged his bets with both Inter and Juve for the championship.
Andreazzoli of Empoli echoed the popular choice, tipping Bologna and Zirkzee as the revelation team and player, while placing his faith in Inter to take the title. Italiano of Fiorentina broke the mould slightly by naming Frosinone as the revelation team, Gudmundsson as the surprise player and tipped Inter for the title win.
Inter’s own manager Inzaghi tipped Frosinone as the revelation team, Zirkzee as the unexpected breakthrough player but abstained from suggesting a title winner. Similar predictions were made by other Serie A managers, maintaining a consistent faith in Bologna’s impressive performance, Zirkzee’s stunning season and Inter’s looming title win.
