Genoa might be on the brink of welcoming a new owner. According to reports from *Il Secolo XIX*, James Pallotta, an American businessman and former president of Roma from 2012 to 2020, has engaged in preliminary discussions with 777 Partners, the current owners of the crisis-stricken club.
Inquiries regarding this potential ownership change were directed to Genoa’s CEO, Andres Blazquez. However, Blazquez firmly dismissed these rumours by stating, “there is nothing true,” as reported by *Il Secolo XIX*.
In the meantime, the club’s management is preparing for three new signings in the January transfer window. Among these prospective acquisitions, former Italy international Mario Balotelli does not seem to be on the radar.
Andrea Pinamonti’s recent outstanding performances, particularly his brace against Bologna, have impressed manager Gilardino. Speaking about the possibility of signing Balotelli, Gilardino said, “Let’s enjoy Andrea and this point. I know Mario, I played with him, I know his technical qualities. We will make evaluations in this regard, we have to consider the period of the unavailable players and when they will return.”
Gilardino emphasized the importance of recovering players like Vitinha and Messias, specifically among the forwards, adding, “Three weeks ago, I said it was difficult to find free agents who were ready; now I say we’re evaluating.”
