An interesting backstory on Luis Alberto, the Lazio midfielder, came to light ahead of yesterday’s match against Empoli. This comes courtesy of Il Messaggero, the prolific Italian newspaper.
According to the report, Alberto appeared in good spirits prior to his injury during the match between Lazio and Empoli.
Interestingly, it was revealed that Lazio’s manager, Maurizio Sarri, and the sporting director, Fabiani, had a productive conversation with Alberto at the Hotel da Vinci.
“Sarri brought up Luis Alberto, all smiles after a good discussion with director Fabiani in the Hotel da Vinci, to bring the team together,” stated the report on Il Messaggero.
The point to note here is that Sarri seems to have taken efforts to strengthen team spirit, utilising Alberto’s influence to boost morale. This has been subtly illustrated by Alberto’s motivated demeanor pre-injury during the game.
