Inter’s management is meticulously studying the formula to convince Genoa to part ways with the Icelandic player Albert Gudmundsson.
Gudmundsson remains Inter’s number one target to bolster the attack available to Simone Inzaghi in preparation for the demanding upcoming season.
The Nerazzurri’s leadership aims to finalise the deal, leveraging the already concluded operation with Genoa for Josep Martinez.
In the meantime, sources close to the negotiations have revealed significant optimism surrounding the potential transfer.
“Inter is very keen on bringing Gudmundsson into the squad,” a spokesperson from Inter’s management was quoted as saying, according to Sky Sports.
The spokesperson added, “The club believes he would be a perfect fit for Simone Inzaghi’s tactical setup.”
Genoa, however, appears reluctant to release their star forward without adequate compensation.
A member of Genoa’s board, speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, stated, “Gudmundsson is a crucial part of our team, and we will ensure the club’s best interests are met in any dealings.”
This ongoing negotiation will undoubtedly continue to capture the attention of fans and analysts alike, as Inter strives to enhance their squad for the season ahead.
