The 16th round of Italy’s Serie A 2023/2024 season saw Genoa host Juventus at the Marassi. The match concluded with a 1-1 draw.

Then, in the 27th minute, a mistake by Badelj of Genoa led to a penalty in favour of Juventus. Chiesa took the penalty and successfully scored, leaving the goalkeeper Martinez off balance.
The game’s momentum shifted in the second half, with Gudmundsson of Genoa scoring an equaliser in the 48th minute. Ekuban adeptly handled a difficult ball and supplied a head pass that Gudmundsson converted, leaving Juventus’ defence stunned.
The match continued with several opportunities for both teams, including a clearance by Szczesny in the 74th minute which was crucial in anticipating an attack by Ekuban.
