Empoli goalkeeper Elia Caprile has spoken out after the team’s hard-fought draw against Cagliari.
In an interview with Sky Sport, Caprile shared his satisfaction at earning a point and keeping a clean sheet, stating, “Yes, we finally managed to get a point, and we kept our goal intact. I am very pleased to have contributed to the team. We deserved this because in many other matches, despite playing better, we did not get what we deserved. This is an important draw as we played on a difficult and very hot pitch against a strong team.”
Caprile also shared his views on the team’s standing in the league, suggesting that it’s too early to fixate on the league table. “We’re there, and we’re up against everyone. The standings must be looked at correctly. In every match, we gave the right performance; we struggled more and played less, but in the end, it’s still too early to look at the standings. We are rightly concerned to give 100%. The few goals? Sometimes a bit of bad luck”.
Caprile’s comments come as the team battles to improve their position in the league, with a current focus on maintaining consistent performances.
