Empoli: Caputo’s numbers up front, compared to 18/19 season

Empoli, currently wrestling at the foot of the Serie A table, is grappling not only with sagging rankings but a spiralling crisis in their attack, which happens to be the worst in Serie A. Despite the efforts of their key player Francesco Caputo popularly known as ‘Ciccio Caputo’, the club’s fortune is yet to turn around.

Stats from the first 15 games of the season reveal a glaring contrast. In the 18/19 season, Caputo had netted 8 goals and provided one assist. This season the return has dwindled to just 3 goals.

Undoubtedly, the calf injuries Caputo has encountered along the way this season have contributed to this diminished tally.
