Following Empoli’s recent face-off with Lazio, head coach Aurelio Andreazzoli conveyed his perspectives about the match.
Andreazzoli gave a post-match analysis to sports streaming service Dazn, expressing his reflections on Empoli’s defeat.
“We’re just a tad bit short on good luck. At the moment, fortune doesn’t seem to be in favour of my group of lads,” he said. Despite the defeat, Andreazzoli remains optimistic, saying, “We firmly believe that luck has to be sought after, its time will come sooner or later. The games are numerous, everything is possible.”
Andreazzoli praised Lazio’s capabilities, calling them a team of “excellent quality”. He further stated that the value Lazio created from minor situations was also noteworthy, adding, “They found the perfect loophole.”
The coach expressed some regrets over their missed chances. “I don’t know how Provedel managed to prevent Cambiaghi’s goal. I had already turned away, assuming the ball had found the net,” Andreazzoli lamented, adding that they “played equally, perhaps more than they did”.
Despite defeat, Andreazzoli seemed somewhat heartened, emphasizing how Empoli “shot 21 times towards Lazio’s goal”. He saw the decisive role of Lazio’s goalkeeper as an encouraging sign that his team’s hard work will eventually pay off.
