Coppa Italia: All Measures by Sports Judge Revealed

The Sports Judge of the Coppa Italia, Alessandro Zampone, has publicised this week’s game sanctions.

Atalanta has been fined €4,000 “after their supporters, at the 19-minute mark of the second half, threw a smoke bomb onto the pitch, forcing the referee to interrupt the game for approximately one minute,” said Zampone. The sanction was reduced under Art. 29, paragraph 1, point b) of the General Sports Justice Code (CGS).

Napoli also had to pay €4,000. The club was fined because “some of its fans were seen throwing plastic bottles onto the pitch and into the enclosure in the 50th minute of the second half”. This fine, as well, was reduced under Art. 29, paragraph 1, point b) of the CGS.

Genoa was charged €1,500 due to one of its supporters’ actions. The supporter had “thrown a smoke bomb into the game enclosure at the 17-minute mark of the second half.” Similarly, the club’s penalty was lowered in accordance with Art. 29, paragraph 1, point b) of the CGS.

In addition to Genoa, Lazio was also asked to pay €1,500 for an eerily similar offence. “Their fans threw a smoke bomb into the game enclosure seven minutes into the first half” and hence, a reduced fine was imposed upon the club under Art. 29, paragraph 1, point b) of the CGS.

Zampone confirmed that no action had been taken against Atalanta, Fiorentina, Frosinone, Inter, Milan, Napoli and Parma who had brought pyrotechnic materials of various kinds (firecrackers, smoke bombs and flares) into their respective sections of the sports facility.
