Transfer market expert Niccolò Ceccarini has revealed Napoli’s interest in Tottenham’s Pierre-Emilie Hojbjerg. Ceccarini discussed the Danish player’s status with TMW, shedding light on Napoli’s need to bolster its midfield.
The club is expected to reinvest the significant sum of 25 million euros, gained from the sale of Elmas to Leipzig. Ceccarini noted, “The negotiation involves the midfield. The sale of Elmas to Leipzig for a sum of 25 million euros has brought a significant figure into the blue coffers that can be reinvested. And certainly, at least two additions will be needed in this department for various reasons.”
He continued, outlining the fluctuating dynamics of the team, “Anguissa will go to the Africa Cup, Demme is exiting, and even Gaetano’s future is still to be deciphered. If there is no space, he could leave on loan (Empoli and Lecce are interested). For this reason, Napoli is looking around to identify the right profile.”
According to Ceccarini, “For now, the azure club has sounded out Hojbjerg from Tottenham and Soumaré from Seville.” Although he did not provide further details, his statements indicate that Napoli is exploring options ahead of the next transfer session.
