Calhanoglu: “Is Inter nervous? The locker room atmosphere is positive. We’re a family even off the field.”

Inter Milan’s midfielder, Hakan Calhanoglu, has praised his team following their impressive 5-1 victory over Monza, where he scored his first double in the Italian championship. In an interview with Dazn, he reflected on the match and the future of the team.

“We worked well this week, having time to improve,” Calhanoglu said. “It was important to win against Monza. They have quality players and they know how to play. It is a good response following a match such as the one against Verona. We started the game very well and I believe we deserved to win today.”

On his personal growth, Calhanoglu was grateful to his teammates and fans. He stated: “I listen and see what you say, thanking my teammates and the fans that support me. I’m always trying to give my best for my teammates, for the team. It’s a beautiful moment, I think it’s like a cake in the end.”

Finally, he dismissed any suggestions of tension within the team. “Nervous Inter? We get angry with each other during training, but in the locker room, there’s a very positive atmosphere. We’re just like you see us on the pitch, a family even off the pitch. And it shows.”

And regarding the Supercoppa, he simply stated: “We want to defend the trophy.”
