Marco Silvestri will not be making a move to Genoa this transfer window.
The Sampdoria goalkeeper, who has found himself on the fringes of the Blucerchiati project, had been offered to the Rossoblù.
With an intention to sell him, there was speculation about his potential transfer.
However, the club has opted to pursue a different profile instead.
Nicolò Schira reported on X that Genoa have sealed the deal for another goalkeeper, effectively leaving Silvestri out of their plans.
“There was interest in Silvestri, but Genoa decided to close the deal for a different goalkeeper,” explained Nicolò Schira on X.
This decision marks a significant pivot in Genoa’s transfer strategy, as they seek to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
With Silvestri remaining at Sampdoria, it remains to be seen if he will find a way back into the first-team plans or if another club may come knocking before the transfer window closes.
