Calciomercato reports that Ricci is a key target for a team, which must first sell players.

Inter Milan are actively looking to address the position of playmaker, aiming to find a deputy for Hakan Calhanoglu.

A few years ago, Kristjan Asllani was chosen for this role, but over time, this decision is beginning to appear misguided, especially in hindsight of passing over Samuele Ricci.

Torino, however, took a chance on Ricci, once an Empoli player, and are now reaping the rewards of his performance. Should they decide to sell him in the summer, it would likely be for a substantial fee.

Interest in Ricci is abundant, with Inter being significantly interested. Calciomercato.com confirms that Inter’s ownership, Oaktree, is keen on pursuing this operation.

However, a sale is necessary first, specifically that of Asllani.

“The two deals are inevitably linked,” reports Calciomercato.com. “It’s true, the Albanian has recently renewed his contract with the Nerazzurri, but this doesn’t exclude a departure. Over the summer there were already expressions of interest in the former Empoli player, which Asllani himself seemed willing to consider.”

“Inter was unprepared with an alternative at the time and decided to postpone the decision, but this issue might arise again next June. Asllani could be tempting for various reasons, including a salary accommodating to many clubs, both in Italy and Europe, and who knows, he might even attract interest from Torino,” the report continues.

The idea of signing Ricci is progressing, as interest in Milan for this young, strong Italian is unanimous. “This would please the management, coach, and ownership all at once,” states Calciomercato.com.

Yet, many elements must align perfectly first, adding uncertainty to the situation.

“The project by Oaktree is clear; they plan to make moves in the market come June to bring in players under 25. The aim is for three or four acquisitions to strengthen, rejuvenate, and add value to the squad. Samuele Ricci is an ideal candidate for becoming an Inter signing,” concludes the report.
