Genoa are reportedly in the market to bolster their offensive ranks with the signing of Nigerian striker David Ankeye from Sheriff Tiranspol. However, according to Il Secolo XIX, the club’s current lack of available non-EU player slots poses an obstacle in the team’s endeavour to secure Ankeye’s services.
That’s because the Rossoblu won’t be able to extend their offer until another non-EU slot becomes vacant.
To free up the necessary spot, the club appears to have put Chilean midfielder Pablo Galdames on the transfer list. Galdames, whose current contract is set to expiry, is believed to be moving to Vasco da Gama — a club under the 777 Partners group, which also owns Genoa.
