Empoli have confirmed the signing of young defender, Saba Goglichidze. The club made the announcement on their official website, delighting fans with the acquisition of this promising talent born in 2004.
The club’s statement said, “Empoli Football Club announces that it has acquired outright the working rights of Saba Goglichidze; the player has signed a contract until 30 June 2028.” Notably, Saba Goglichidze, originally from Georgia, has already carved out a name for himself in the footballing world despite his young age.
Goglichidze, a Georgian national, was born in Kutaisi on 25 June 2004. Developing and making his name at Torpedo Kutaisi, he made his debut in the Erovnuli Liga – Georgia’s top league – at the age of 17. He proved his mettle in the following season, making 15 appearances, with 14 more in the 2022/23 season. Goglichidze has been hailed as one of the emerging talents from his nation.
Furthermore, Goglichidze has represented Georgia at Under-18, Under-19 level, and made four appearances for the Under-21 side in the qualifying matches for the European Championships. He is expected to add much value to Empoli’s current squad with his defensive capabilities and youthful enthusiasm.
