According to an report in the Italian newspaper La Stampa, Torino Football Club has stepped up its interest in Atalanta player Mitchel Bakker. The Dutch winger is seen as key to boosting manager Igor Tudor’s squad.
Bakker, who has been somewhat marginalised by Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini in the first half of the season, is also drawing interest from Sassuolo and Monza.
However, Torino is hoping to leverage Bakker’s friendship with Perr Schuurs, his former teammate at Ajax, to persuade him to join the Turin-based club.
The report in La Stampa suggested that any move for Bakker would be a straightforward loan deal until the end of the season.
