Sassuolo striker, Andrea Pinamonti, had a chat with DAZN after their match against Fiorentina.
Pinamonti commented on the difference between his time at Genoa and his current club, Sassuolo. He told DAZN, “There are completely different sides to the coin”. He recollected the times at Genoa being a difficult one where they were hitting the bottom of the ranks. He mentioned an instance where “many fans would come under our hotel and they were many and bad”.
In sharp contrast, his time at Sassuolo seems quite relieving to him. According to him, this can be an advantage during hard times. Yet, he feels that during home games, they could really use the support of an enthusiastic crowd as it “makes a difference”.
On the topic of his transition from two forward positions to a single one, Pinamonti expressed that it was quite challenging for him. Last year, he faced difficulties in integrating and understanding certain dynamics of the position. In his words, “I was having trouble scoring goals in training too because I was struggling to understand the movements.” However, he adds, “This year it’s a whole different story and I am very happy about this.”
When asked if he had set himself any targets, he dismissed it saying he has understood that his focus has to be on doing as well as he can.
