Following the Serie A face-off between Genoa and Bologna, Alberto Gilardino, head coach of Genoa, shared his thoughts during an interaction with DAZN.
The coach acknowledged the unexpected late goals faced by his team, saying, “we are aware of the goals conceded at the last minute, a situation that’s difficult to coach.” However, he insisted that he was not blaming his team, stating that “it was more about Bologna’s merit than our demerits.”
Gilardino went on to praise his squad, lauding them for playing spectacularly especially considering the difficult days they had gone through due to a virus outbreak which bench five players.
Despite the challenges, Gilardino expressed his satisfaction with his team’s performance. He was particularly pleased with their “excellent first half”, even as he admitted that Bologna outperformed Genoa in the second half.
He further stated that the match’s outcome was a fair one, stressing the significance of consistency in results. All these quotes were taken from his interview with DAZN.
