Liberato Cacace, the left-back player for Empoli, has shared his views ahead of the team’s encounter with Lecce on Wednesday afternoon. Speaking to Italian newspaper La Nazione, the New Zealand-born footballer summed up his current thoughts regarding the vital match on home ground.
Commenting on the recent draw with Genoa, Cacace described it as a crucial point for the team. He said, “For us, it was an important point. We knew that in Genoa, we would have to deal with a difficult atmosphere. Unfortunately, we conceded a goal, but we bravely fought back to secure a draw.”
Cacace went on to suggest that Empoli’s match with Lecce carries equal significance as the previous one with Genoa. He urged the team to persist in battling for each game and for every point, believing that such determination would steer the team towards safety.
Aside from the forthcoming match, Cacace also commented on his relationship with Empoli’s coach, Aurelio Andreazzoli. Cacace applauded Andreazzoli’s inspirational and trusting leadership, especially noting its positive impact on young players. He expressed that Andreazzoli’s coaching style kindled a sense of serenity and conviction amongst the team, leading to their success against some of the league’s top teams.
His words reflected his deep admiration for Andreazzoli’s approach, saying, “The coach gives us confidence and belief. This is what I like”.
