Nicolò Zaniolo is officially a new player for Atalanta.
The attacking midfielder has joined from Galatasaray.
Atalanta has been active in the market, and following the acquisition of Godfrey to bolster the defence, they have now succeeded in securing Zaniolo after weeks of anticipation.
“Zaniolo will offer a new dimension to our attack. We are thrilled to have him on board,” said Gian Piero Gasperini, Atalanta’s head coach, in a statement.
The Bergamo-based club managed to outpace Fiorentina for Zaniolo’s signature, meeting the demands of Galatasaray in the process.
Atalanta’s sporting director also shared his thoughts on the transfer: “It was a complex negotiation, but we were determined to bring Nicolò to Atalanta,” said Tony D’Amico in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport.
This move highlights Atalanta’s commitment to strengthening their squad in hopes of achieving greater success in the upcoming season.
