Udinese’s Technical Director, Federico Balzaretti, recently spoke out on the future of Lazar Samardzic, during the press conference announcing the arrival of Lautaro Giannetti.
In an attempt to lessen the pressure on Samardzic, Balzaretti said, “We want to keep him as calm as possible so that he can focus solely on Udinese.” He added that both himself and Cioffi speak with the young star regularly to keep him sheltered from ongoing rumors.
The Udinese director further acknowledged the vast interest surrounding Samardzic due to his visible talent and the quality he has displayed in his performances. However, he stressed that there was nothing imminent in terms of a transfer.
Balzaretti remarked that whilst several clubs have been seeking details and trying to understand the situation of the player, the club’s priority is to keep Samardzic focused and prepared for the match in Florence.
He highlighted that the attention on Samardzic was because he was a highly sought-after player, but assured that the club had many strong young players who were ready to step up, regardless.
The remarks from Balzaretti seem to underline Udinese’s commitment to quelling transfer rumours and keeping their talented players grounded and focused on their performance on the field.
