Turin, Cairo: Moments of tension with Juric, the objective is…

Torino Football Club President, Urbano Cairo, has unveiled the club’s future plans while visiting Sporting ASD centre in Turin today. Cairo was on site to launch the new Robaldo Sports Centre project, but also took time to discuss primary issues concerning the Piedmont club.

Regarding the performance of the team, particularly the forward line and a dearth of goals, Cairo confidently addressed the situation. He said, “We have a significant team where we have kept everyone, now let’s see. Unfortunately, we only have one competition because we are out of the cup.” He then commended the defensive line and the goalkeeper for having kept seven clean-sheets, a record surpassed only by Inter Milan. He went on to state that the team as a whole contributes to keeping away the opponents’ offence, and that even the forward players help in defence.

Cairo believes in his set of forwards – Sanabria, Zapata, Pellegri and Karamoh – stating that despite the current setbacks, their attack will significantly improve.

As for the league competition and club ambitions, Cairo acknowledges that they’re in an important phase of the season, being at the fifteenth matchday in a highly competitive league. The future fixtures will not be easy, he said, cautioning that no game is simple, and the team must face the imminent two games before Christmas with determination and desire to perform well.

On the relationship with manager Ivan Juric, Cairo revealed that they share a good bond and mutual appreciation despite occasional tensions stemming from ambitions of performing better. “The other night at our Christmas dinner, I joked with him about eventually having a renewal talk with his ‘boss’, wife!” Cairo hinted.

The ‘Radonjic case’, seemingly pointing to issues with the player, was another topic of Cairo’s address. He admitted that talented Radonjic sometimes needs a “slight adjustment” but praised his growth, affirming the club and Juric’s continuing efforts to make him realize his value to the team.

These statements came as Cairo gave an inside look into Torino Football Club’s current state and future ambitions, while also providing glimpses of his relationship with the team and its manager.
