The current edition of *Corriere dello Sport* provides an update on Reda Belahyane’s season with Verona and speculates on his future with the upcoming transfer market in mind.
“There’s no accident in the way top Italian clubs, including Inter, are leading the charge to closely monitor him,” writes *Corriere dello Sport*. They want to understand the scope and costs of a potential transfer at the end of the season. Arriving in Veneto in January 2024, the Moroccan, who also holds French citizenship, took his time to adapt.
In the first part of his career with Verona, Belahyane made only two appearances, accumulating 90 minutes in total. One was against Juventus in the 2-2 draw on 17 February, and the other against Inter in another 2-2 draw on 26 May. *Corriere dello Sport* sees a twist of fate in the fact that he has only played against these two giants, suggesting that if he continues at this pace, he might end up at one of these big clubs.
This season, the 20-year-old has taken command of Zanetti’s midfield. He has made 11 appearances out of 12 matches.
Regarding Inter’s transfer market plans, the newspaper states, “Marotta and Ausilio are monitoring him and are following his development with a view to the summer.” They’ll have another opportunity to do so this Saturday afternoon when Verona and Inter face off in the thirteenth round of Serie A at the Bentegodi.
While there is certainly competition from other Italian giants, the deciding factor will likely be who’s able to convince him of the project’s merit. If Asllani fails to make the expected progress that everyone in Milan hopes for, the Moroccan could be enticed by the idea of becoming the deputy to Çalhanoglu.
