Football Transfer market expert and journalist Alfredo Pedullà, speaking on the Passion Fiorentina’s Youtube channel, shared his thoughts on the ongoing transfer negotiations and rumours surrounding Gudmundsson and Jack Bonaventura.
“Fiorentina had set their sights high with Gudmundsson, but weren’t able to secure him,” said Pedullà. “They had no viable ‘Plan B’ as alternatives were considered not up to par. The negotiation issues stemmed from dealing with a club that had no need to sell. They had acquired Vitinha to play alongside Gudmundsson, not to replace him. No one came in with the right offer. Even if Fiorentina had paid 30, they would have hiked the figure up.”
Addressing the rumours linking Bonaventura with a move to Juventus, Pedulla shed some light. “The situation has to be understood given Juventus’s movement through Allegri, who called Barone. Just before their match against Inter, Bonaventura explained that he wanted to go to Juventus,” he explained. The twists and turns of the football transfer market continue to create intrigue, with the fates of both Gudmundsson and Bonaventura yet to be decided.
