Tassotti: Cambiaso can play equally well on left and right

In a recent interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Mauro Tassotti, former AC Milan player, keenly expressed his admiration for Andrea Cambiaso’s growth in the current season following Juventus’ victory over Napoli. Tassotti, currently assistant coach to Shevchenko at Genoa, is familiar with Cambiaso and his capabilities on the field.

Tassotti was notably impressed by Cambiaso’s ability to play equally well on both the left and the right sides. He was quoted as saying, “From the start, I was struck by Andrea’s ability to play both left and right. And above all, the ability to kick well with both feet.” He’s yet to figure out whether the player is right or left-footed, drawing a comparison with Paolo Maldini, who was “much more physically structured”, possessing “incredible charisma” and was “very strong defensively.”

Tassotti also touched on Cambiaso’s remarkable ascent in his football career. He hailed his performance in Bologna and praised his consistent effort in Juventus. “When he was given the opportunity to play, he earned space and consideration,” Tassotti adds, also highlighting Cambiaso’s fantastic cross, skill in close play, and ball handling.

While acknowledging Cambiaso’s areas of improvement, Tassotti has faith in Juventus’ coach Allegri’s ability to mould him into a complete player. He reflects, “Max has always liked players like this.”(Allegri). Drawing parallels, Tassotti recalled De Sciglio from his Milan days, who was also proficient with both feet and has continued to work with Allegri at Juventus. This shared history could hint at Cambiaso’s promising football career under Allegri’s guidance.
