Szczesny reportedly joins Barcelona; medical tests next for former Juventus keeper

According to Fabrizio Romano, the deal for the former Juventus player to join Barcelona is now complete.

The devastating injury to Ter Stegen and the subsequent call from the Blaugrana have changed the landscape, despite the player’s previous announcement of retirement.

The player is now set to fly to Spain for medical examinations and to sign as a free agent.

“Yes, I am now in negotiations and considering the transfer to Barcelona. It would be disrespectful not to consider this option for my career. Barcelona is one of the best clubs in the world,” said Szczesny in a statement following his retirement announcement.

This surprising transfer deal has now been definitively confirmed, as per Calcio News 24.
