Real Madrid’s Ancelotti explains how they triumphed over Atletico

Carlo Ancelotti, the manager of Real Madrid, spoke to the press following his team’s victory over Atletico in the Spanish Supercup.

In an animated post-match conference, Ancelotti expressed how impressed he was with the competitiveness of the game. “This game serves as a lesson to our young players: one can lose, but giving up should never be an option”, Ancelotti said. He further appreciated the spirit of both teams, describing the match as “a spectacle for football.”

Real Madrid’s victory, according to the veteran Italian coach, was achieved because they were able to maintain their energy level until the end. Crediting his substitutions, Ancelotti acknowledged the performances of Joselu, Brahim and Ceballos saying, “The substitutes won the game… This gives a lot of confidence to a coach because it shows that the entire team is motivated.”

However, Ancelotti is not entirely satisfied as he showed concern about the team’s defence. He stressed, “We have to improve. The conceded goals worry me”. But, he kept his optimism high for winning the title, “There are still 90 minutes to clinch the title, which is our primary objective.”

Reminded of Madrid’s comeback, Ancelotti responded, “Nothing new, it is in Real Madrid’s DNA”.
