Real Madrid have officially announced the contract renewal of Dani Carvajal following his serious knee injury.
In a statement, the club said, “Real Madrid C.F. announce that, as anticipated, we have reached an agreement with Dani Carvajal to extend the contract of our player, who will remain tied to the club until 30th June 2026.”
Carvajal joined Real Madrid in 2002 at the tender age of 10 and has progressed through all the categories of our youth system, from Alevín B to Castilla in 2010. “On 12th May 2004, he was part of an iconic moment in our history, laying the first stone of Ciudad Real Madrid alongside then honorary president Alfredo Di Stéfano,” the statement continued.
Since 2013, he has been a vital part of the first team, becoming a legend of both Real Madrid and world football in his twelve seasons defending our jersey.
With Real Madrid, Carvajal has claimed 26 titles in 427 matches: 6 Champions Leagues, 5 Club World Cups, 5 European Super Cups, 4 La Liga titles, 2 Copa del Reys, and 4 Spanish Super Cups. “Carvajal is one of only five players to have won six European Cups. On 1st June at Wembley, he was named the best player of the Champions League final, in which Real Madrid won their 15th European Cup,” the statement read.
Carvajal is also a legend for the Spanish national team, earning 50 caps. With Spain, he has won 1 European Championship, 1 Nations League, and European Championships at both the Under-21 and Under-19 levels.
“The Real Madrid wish to show him all our support and affection and wish him a speedy recovery so that he can enjoy his football on the field as soon as possible,” concluded the club statement.
