Real Madrid have officially extended Dani Carvajal’s contract following his severe knee injury.
In a statement, the club announced, “As expected, Real Madrid C.F. have agreed on the extension of Dani Carvajal’s contract, keeping him tied to the club until 30 June 2026.”
Carvajal joined Real Madrid in 2002 at the tender age of ten and has progressed through all the categories of our youth system, from Alevín B to Castilla in 2010.
On 12 May 2004, he featured in an iconic moment of our history, laying the first stone of the Ciudad Real Madrid alongside our then honorary president Alfredo Di Stéfano.
Since 2013, he has been part of the first team, and over his twelve seasons defending our colours, he has become a legend of Real Madrid and world football.
With Real Madrid, Carvajal has won 26 titles in 427 appearances: 6 Champions Leagues, 5 Club World Cups, 5 UEFA Super Cups, 4 La Liga titles, 2 Copas del Rey, and 4 Spanish Super Cups. He is one of only five players to have won six European Cups. At Wembley on 1 June, he was named the best player of the Champions League final, where Real Madrid claimed their 15th European Cup.
Carvajal is also a legend for the Spanish national team, with 50 caps to his name. With Spain, he has won 1 European Championship, 1 Nations League, 1 Under-21 European Championship, and 1 Under-19 European Championship.
Real Madrid expressed their support and affection for him, stating, “We wish him a swift recovery, so he can return to delight us with his football on the pitch as soon as possible.”
