Adrien Rabiot made his first public appearance in a press conference for Marseille fans. The former Juventus player has decided to accept the offer from the French club. Here is what he had to say:
“I am very happy to be here, otherwise I would not have made this choice. I was surprised, it is true, because I played for PSG. I did not expect the reception, especially not with 500 fans. The supporters are enthusiastic and dream of great things this season. The coach and the president explained to me the ambitious project of OM,” Rabiot said, addressing the welcome he received, as reported by La Provence.
Speaking about the challenge ahead, Rabiot commented, “It is a great challenge to come here with a young and quality team. I want to achieve the club’s goals as well as my own. I have spoken, but I am not at my peak tactically. I feel good, although I may not be ready for this weekend. I hope to be available quickly. I have nothing to explain; I am making my career choices. It is true that together we can see that nothing is impossible. With experience and other circumstances, one can realise that things are different.”
Addressing his decision, Rabiot said, “Perhaps it has disappointed some, but the choice is mine. My family is happy because they support me, even though it might not seem obvious to them. It is important that my family is well and supports this choice. When I was younger, I enjoyed watching OM, around the ages of 10-12, during the times of Niang and Taiwo. Given that I enjoyed watching other teams, I understand the focus on this one. Naturally, De Zerbi needs no introduction. I played against him at Sassuolo, and he has done remarkable things. I see myself in those things. This was a key factor in my decision.”
