PSG Announces Mbappe’s Departure, Set to Start from Bench

PSG took to the field against Nantes in the 22nd round of Ligue 1. PSG’s manager, Luis Enrique, made the choice not to initially field star player Kylian Mbappé, who began the game on the bench.

It’s speculated that this decision was either driven by the desire to rotate his team, given PSG’s recent Wednesday match against Real Sociedad in the Champions League, or was it a response to Mbappé’s recent announcement that he’ll be leaving the club this summer?

Mbappé played for a little over half an hour, entering the game at the 62-minute mark in place of Asensio. PSG went on to capture a 2-0 victory, with goals from Lucas Hernandez, who scored from outside the area, and none other than Mbappé from the penalty spot.
