Paredes: Garnacho plays like Ronaldo but needs change for Argentina

Leandro Paredes, in an interview with DSports, has shared his thoughts about his young National team-mate Garnacho.

“Paredes opened up about a moment when he and his team-mates teased Garnacho following a celebration,” he said. It led to a reaction from Garnacho, Paredes said, recalling that, “He became very nervous, he couldn’t even talk.”

Paredes also highlights the admiration Garnacho holds for Cristiano Ronaldo which in his opinion impacts his style of play. Paredes indicated that, “I think CR7 has influenced him greatly. In fact, he plays in a way quite similar to him, as he is his idol.”

Paredes did express that although it was natural for Garnacho to look up to Ronaldo, he needs to fit into the National team’s playing style. “It’s normal,” he said, “but of course when he arrives here with us, he will have to make some changes.”
