Negotiations between Serie A club Napoli and Lazar Samardzic are moving slowly, following renewed interest from Juventus, who were close to signing the Serbian midfielder in the summer. This is according to reports from Sky Sport.
In response, Napoli is said to be stepping up the pursuit of an alternative player. This alternative has been identified as Hamed Junior Traoré, formerly of Italian club Sassuolo and currently with English Premier League side Bournemouth.
The midfielder joined Bournemouth in the most recent transfer window but has had little impact, making only three appearances so far. Traoré, who is familiar with the Italian league, could potentially make a loan move to Napoli.
The prospect of this deal seems to be advancing smoothly, with a green light expected within a few hours.
