Mourinho: Knowing Slavia’s result at half-time held us back, says Roma coach

Following Roma’s recent victory against Sheriff, Roma’s head coach, José Mourinho, provided an overview of the match through the official club channels.

According to Mourinho, the team was aware of Slavia’s results during half-time, which he believes influenced their determination on the field. “We knew of Slavia’s results at half-time. It hindered our determination, without that result, we could have scored five goals against Sheriff”, reported Mourinho in the club’s official channels.

Mourinho also discussed his approach to the game, emphasizing his focus on the club’s future by offering rest to some players and providing opportunities to young talents. “Of course, I thought about the future, letting people rest and launching the young players”, he added.

This match marked Mannini’s debut for Roma, a player who has been with the club since he was 14 years old. Pisilli, another young player, also took to the field and scored a goal. Mourinho recounts finding an emotional Pisilli in the dressing room after the game. “When you go into the locker room and find a boy crying because he has scored with Roma’s first team, there’s nothing more to add”, he reportedly said. The pride and emotions demonstrated by Pisilli reveal the level of dedication and passion for the club’s future aspirations, according to Mourinho.
