According to reports from *calciomercato.com*, AC Milan and Italy national team defender Matteo Gabbia is on the verge of extending his contract with the club.
Sky Sport has revealed that “the dream of staying at Milan for life is becoming a reality for Gabbia.” His agents are set to meet with the club’s management this week to discuss extending his current contract, which is due to expire on 30th June 2026.
The parties involved reportedly have a mutual desire to continue their association for the long term, with discussions to possibly double Gabbia’s economic terms. Currently, with bonuses, his salary exceeds one million euros.
The new contract is expected to run until 2030.
This development would make Gabbia the first player in Milan’s squad to commit into the next decade, allowing him to remain with the Rossoneri until he turns 31.
As per the same report, “all that is needed now is Gabbia’s signature to formalise the agreement.”
