Milan Prioritises Maignan’s Contract Renewal

Milan Transfer Market Sees Renewal of Mike Maignan as a Priority, Uncertainty Rises as the Talks Progress

As reported by Corriere dello Sport, one of the priorities of the transfer market for Milan in the upcoming months will be the renewal of Mike Maignan, a pillar of the current Rossoneri squad whose contract is due to expire in 2026, and whom the management wishes to secure for the future.

A revealing detail has surfaced regarding this matter. Zlatan Ibrahimovic had reportedly confirmed Maignan’s importance in the present and future Milan project and proposed a contract extension until 2029, not until 2028 as was rumoured, with a salary increase from the current 2.8 million euros to 4.5 million euros plus bonuses.

“Maignan, on his part, wishes to stay but is starting from a higher demand, which is 6 million euros plus some bonuses,” Corriere dello Sport conveyed. This would align his new contract with the one signed by Rafael Leao last summer.

The conclusion of these talks will likely see significant developments in the coming weeks. More Milan news can be followed at MILANNEWS24.COM.
