Yesterday, a summit took place between Lazio president Claudio Lotito and Adam Marusic’s representatives to discuss the player’s contract renewal and future with the club.
Currently, Marusic earns €2.2 million annually, one of the highest salaries in the squad, and Lazio is looking to reduce their wage bill.
Lotito reportedly stated, “Losing him on a free transfer is not part of the club’s plans,” as quoted by Corriere dello Sport.
Further meetings will be held soon to reach an agreement. However, as past renewals have shown, predicting the outcome remains challenging.
Interest in Marusic has also emerged from clubs in Turkey and Saudi Arabia, according to Corriere dello Sport.
