Manchester United director says January will not be a busy transfer market

Manchester United’s Sporting Director, John Murtough, has made comments regarding the club’s stance on the upcoming January transfer window. Murtough was speaking to fans at a forum dedicated to the Red Devils.

Murtough, as per Calcio News 24, said, “Looking ahead towards the January transfer window, we don’t expect it to be particularly challenging. There will always be the opportunity for deals, especially for players who aren’t getting as much playing time as they would like.”

However, he clarified that January is not seen by the club as an optimum time to do business. “We have always been consistent in saying that we don’t see January as the ideal time for doing business and our recruitment strategy remains focused on the summer windows.”

Murtough also addressed Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations. He stated that this season has shown the effectiveness of the FFP rules and he emphasized the club’s dedication to compliance, “We have to be very careful to ensure that we remain in compliance, and we will do so.”
