Giovanni Malagò, the President of the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI), has addressed the Champions League round of 16 draws involving Italian teams. During an event assigning scholarships to promising young athletes, he shared his thoughts on the performance and ranking of Italian teams in the League. The statements were revealed by Calcio&Finanza.
Malagò said, “Last year, Inter came second in their group and reached the final, almost achieving a significant result.”
He further indicated the Italian teams must strive to maintain their scoring position in the rankings, which would enable Italy to field a fifth team in the Champions League.
