The financial woes of Lyon show no sign of abating, as the club faces a staggering €500 million in debt.
If they fail to manage at least €100 million of this debt by the end of the season, the consequence will be relegation to Ligue 2.
Furthermore, as reported by Fabrizio Romano, the team is also at risk of a transfer market suspension.
“The OL are in a difficult position, forced to sell their most valuable players without the ability to appropriately replace them,” noted Romano.
These financial constraints leave Lyon in a precarious position as they attempt to navigate the ongoing crisis.
