Lecce transfer update sees Trinchera address Dorgu sale rumours and outline club’s plan.

Lecce’s Sporting Director, Trinchera, has shared insights into the club’s plans for the transfer market while addressing recent player rumours.

In a recent statement about Lecce’s transfer strategy, Trinchera said, “Every club has its own working model and strategy.” These remarks were shared during a press briefing about the club’s current and future endeavours.

“When Director of Sports Corvino and I returned to Lecce, it was the post-Covid period when all clubs faced economic challenges, including ours. It was essential to start with clean accounts,” he explained.

He highlighted the challenges, saying, “We have a local ownership group without immense resources, yet they’ve made considerable efforts and truly care about their football team.”

Reflecting on the past difficulties, he added, “We found ourselves in a historic challenging moment, and we were asked to play football sustainably, to build technical assets, and survive in a demanding world while nurturing young local talents. It’s been a very challenging task.”

Trinchera emphasised the success of their approach, stating, “Everything we have done has rewarded us. We do not agree with adopting a loan policy, and we’ve been asked for capital gains from owned players. Not to boast about our work, but everything we’ve done has been rewarding.”

He continued, “We are in Serie A for the third year, and we aim to bring continual joy to our supporters.”

Addressing specific player rumours, he mentioned, “Dorgu is under the radar of many clubs. Has he been sold? No. The priority is survival. We must focus on the present, with the future in his hands. He could play for one of the world’s top clubs,” he concluded, demonstrating a mix of optimism and realism regarding the club’s future.
